Snickerdoodles

These chewy cookies are always a treat for an afternoon snack. ---Nicole and Michelle

Ingredients:
1 cup soft shortening (We use Crisco sticks)
1-1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2-3/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs thoroughly. Blend dry ingredients and stir in.

Roll into balls the size of walnuts.

Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.

Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flattened using a fork.

Bake at 400 degrees for 9-10 minutes.

Yield: about 3-1/2 dozen.
