Banana Bread

I found this recipe in a cookbook given to me at my wedding.  I have used this recipe for the last 23 years and still get compliments.  I generally use powder buttermilk which I always have on hand.

Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
4 eggs
2 teaspoons soda, dissolved in 1 tablespoon water
4 cups flour
1-1/2 cups nuts
2 cups crushed bananas
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Beat sugar, oil and eggs well.  Add buttermilk, bananas, vanilla, and soda.  Stir well, then add dry ingredients and nuts.  Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. 

Yield:  3 loaves
