Leola's (Grandma) Rolls

One of the best things on the menu at Thanksgiving were grandma's rolls.  I can't help delight in fond childhood memories when I eat these.  Best of all they are very easy to make.

Ingredients
2 Tablespoons yeast
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons flour
2/3 cup luke warm water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
2 eggs, beaten
1-1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup very hot water
about 5-6 cups of flour

Directions
Make a sponge.  Mix yeast, 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and luke warm water together.  Let rise while mixing the following:  sugar, oil, eggs, and salt.  Add hot water and 1 cup of flour.  Mix together.  Add yeast mixture and mix.  Add enough flour to make a soft dough.  Knead by hand or mixer.

Put dough into a large greased bowl, cover and let rise.  (About 1 hour)  Make desire kind of rolls.  Let rise.  Cook at 375 degrees for 10- 12 minutes.

Yield: 2 dozen
